Dave is part of the social committee. He takes his role on the committee as being able to make us all get together, laugh and be social in the way that only military know.
He will always been seen smiling and laughing, usually at his own expense.
He has an ear to chew and a face your mother wouldn’t feed but please be sure he will always listen and be there for all.

QARANC
My name is Sue Starkey, I trained as a Nurse at Glasgow Northern Hospitals and qualified in 1976, and soon after joined the Queen Alexander Royal Army Nursing Corp. 1976 - 1979. Since leaving the QARANC, I have been fortunate to find work wherever my husband was posted, coming to Gloucester when my husband retired after his 22year service from the Royal Artillery.
Since living in Gloucester i have worked within the Renal Services at Gloucester Royal and have tried to retire, but i'm not quite ready to give up, so still work part time.

Glosters / RAMC
September 1974, I joined up as a 19½ year old, served in 1st Gloucestershire Regiment, as a musician, French Horn.
On leaving in 1978, after 8 months in Northern Ireland, I trained and qualified as a nurse, and also joined RAMC reserve for another 8 years. Finally retiring in 2020 after 42 years as a nurse.

REME 1981-2019
Joined the Army as an apprentice in 1981 aged 16. Served for 38 years in the REME with some good and not so good postings. Settled in Gloucester after posting to Innsworth in 2010 and eventually left the Army in 2019.
An avid biker and part of the Royal British Legion Riders. Always willing to help and does Veteran support visits.

QARANC
I spent my childhood as a military brat, and enlisted within 6 months of my Dad's demob. I served as a regular in QARANC from 71 to 72 in Aldershot. I later served with TA for several years. In the early 90s I volunteered with the Military Hospital chaplaincy in the QEMH at Woolwich for 3 years which lead to my ordination in the Church of England as a priest.

Royal Signals (Airborne) - 1965-1977
After my 3 years apprenticeship (Military and Trade Training) I was posted to 602 Signal Troop (Special Communications) in Robinswood Barracks Gloucester which after completing "P" Coy joined their Airborne Section. Further Troop movements to Worcester and then to Hereford. Served 7 years with this Independent Signal Troop with various detachments around the world. Served my last 2 years with 30 Signal Regiment, Blandford which included a 1 years detachment to UNFICYP, Nicosia, Cyprus.
